Peiyi Nguee

The most important decisions rarely come with an answer sheet.

I help leaders and organisations navigate complexity, strengthen capability and turn change into action. Especially when there is no obvious right answer.

The premise

We were taught to find answers. Not to make decisions.

Most of us spent years being graded on finding the one correct answer.

Then we were promoted into rooms where the questions stopped coming with answer keys. Boardrooms. Living rooms. The rooms inside our own heads.

This is an exploration of what happens at exactly that point: when certainty disappears, the rubric is gone, and judgment is the only thing left to grade yourself against.

That skill was never on the syllabus. It can still be learned.

We spend years teaching people to find the right answer. Then we promote them into situations where there isn’t one.

Getting stuck

Why smart people get stuck

It is rarely a lack of intelligence, experience or information. It is the quiet patterns that take over the moment the answer key goes missing. Most people arrive carrying two or three at once.

  1. Analysis paralysis

More data, more options, less ability to actually choose.

  2. Decision avoidance

The call gets postponed until it quietly makes itself.

  3. Competing priorities

Every option costs something that also matters.

  4. Overthinking

Rehearsing every scenario instead of committing to one.

  5. Fear of regret

Protecting against the wrong choice rather than choosing well.

  6. Hidden assumptions

The real constraint is one nobody has named yet.

  7. Need for certainty

Waiting for proof the situation will never provide.

  8. Decision fatigue

By the time the big call arrives, the judgment is spent.

Ways to work together

Three ways to build better judgment

Not advice. Not a right answer handed down. A process for deciding well when the rubric is gone.

The Next Move Intensive

A structured engagement for capable people facing an important decision, competing priorities, or an uncertain path forward. We do not search for the right answer. We build the judgment to choose one and move.

You leave with a decision you can stand behind, and a framework you keep for the decisions that come after this one.

About

Peiyi Nguee

Peiyi Nguee helps leaders and organisations navigate complexity, strengthen capability and turn change into action.

Her work sits at the intersection of strategy, people and transformation. Rather than starting with a predetermined programme or solution, she works with organisations to understand what is really getting in the way, identify the capabilities that need to be strengthened, and design practical interventions that create meaningful change.

A performance problem may not simply be a skills problem. It could stem from unclear priorities, misalignment, ineffective decision-making, leadership behaviours, capability gaps or resistance to change. Understanding the real problem comes before designing the intervention.

How do you make a decision when there is no right answer?

Name the real question, which is usually one layer beneath the one on the agenda. Surface the assumptions the decision rests on. Price what each option genuinely costs in money, time, credibility and people. Agree your criteria before you rank the options, then commit with a date. The goal is not certainty; it is the judgment to move without it.

Why do smart people get stuck on decisions?

It is rarely a lack of intelligence, experience or information. Eight patterns account for most of it: analysis paralysis, decision avoidance, competing priorities, overthinking, fear of regret, hidden assumptions, a need for certainty, and decision fatigue. Most people arrive carrying two or three at once.

What is the Next Move Intensive?

The Next Move Intensive is a structured engagement from Peiyi Nguee for capable people facing an important decision, competing priorities, or an uncertain path forward. What is the difference between PeiyiNguee.com and AXIOM Strategy?

PeiyiNguee.com is where people meet the ideas: judgment, decisions, leadership and uncertainty. AXIOM Strategy is where organisations put those ideas to work through workshops, leadership development, facilitation and AI adoption. Peiyi is the source of the thinking; AXIOM is where it goes to work.
